It represents just one of many aspects of an ongoing, collective, interactive, and multi-dimensional innovation process that requires continuous adaptation to changing conditions to improve system productivity, food security, resilience, and incomes. By becoming aware of this reality and capitalizing on it, policymakers, institutional decision-makers, and donors will be better positioned to foster a dynamic and sustainable agricultural sector that meets the needs and aspirations of African societies.
